Student Services & Counseling
The minor in student services and counseling is highly selective, open only to students accepted into the Peer Support Services program. The minor consists of small core classes and hands-on training designed to develop students’ communication, listening, and counseling and advisement skills; additional electives introduce students to relevant theory and issues. Lower sophomores may apply to the program.
The minor offers an excellent foundation to students who intend to pursue graduate study or employment in student personnel work, counseling, psychology, counselor education, teaching, communications, or social work.
