ISS Virtual Office Assistant – Check-In

Carefully read the instructions listed below, then use the button at the bottom of this page to start your check-in.

If you are an F-1 student, you must check in with the ISS within 10 days of your arrival at Queens College. Checking in with us is absolutely necessary and is the first thing you must do to maintain your legal status here in the US. You cannot check in if you are outside the US. If you do not check-in, your F-1 status will be in jeopardy. Therefore, it is in your best interest to check in as soon as possible after you arrive in New York.

If you are an F-1 or J-1 student, you must complete the check-in requirement online.

You will only be allowed to submit the check-in form once, using your QC login credential, @login.cuny.edu

Note: Do not Check-In if you are still outside the US. You must have entered the US in order to check in!

In the form, you will be asked to upload the following documents:

  • A copy of your current F-1 visa page
  • The blue stamp of your most recent entry into the United States (this is often the page adjacent to your visa) if your visa was stamped.
  • Your I-94 record (please use the link https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home for more info about the I-94 and how to retrieve it)

Scan and prepare all of the documents listed above before starting the online check-in form to ensure the quick and smooth completion of your check-in process. All documents are required.

All documents must be uploaded, and please do your best to upload them in PDF format.  We will contact you if we have any questions about your documents or your check-in form. You will receive a confirmation email immediately after completing the forms, so you can review your answers.

If you have any technical problems or difficulties with the check-in process, please email us at iss@qc.cuny.edu. The subject line of your email must read:

Family Name, First Name, CUNY ID Number, Check In Question.

For example, if your family name is Doe and your given name is John, then the subject line of your email should read:

“Doe, John, 00000000 Check In Question”

Note: If you are an F1 Transfer student and you did not leave the US before starting the semester, you still need to check-in.
