ISS Virtual Office Assistant – Transfer Out

Online I-20 Transfer Out Request

Read and Understand: Before you start, make sure you fully understand all the instructions on this page. It’s important to know what you’re doing before you begin the transfer process.

Eligibility and Form Use: This process is for students who are currently in active F status at Queens College and have been accepted to another U.S. institution. To initiate the I-20 transfer, you need to fill out the Transfer Out Request form. This form allows Queens College ISS to transfer your SEVIS record to your new school. For students on OPT, remember to specify the date when you want your SEVIS record released. Students with a terminated SEVIS record (I-20) must follow the same process.

Additional Forms and Next Steps: If your new school requires a “transfer in” form, you can upload it together with your request. Your ISS advisor at Queens College will complete this form and return it to you after processing your request. After submitting this form, you should also contact your new school to discuss any additional steps required to complete your transfer. Ensure you are familiar with all the SEVIS Transfer information.

Starting a New Request: To begin a new request, click the “Request Transfer Out” button and log in using your CUNYFirst credentials. If you need to make changes, Submit a New Request or email the ISS Office to cancel your request. Our Office will process transfer requests for students with active I-20 status after the grades are posted at the end of each semester.

Getting Help: If you have any questions or need clarification, don’t hesitate to reach out. You can contact your ISS advisor directly or send an email to the ISS Office at iss@qc.cuny.edu for assistance.
